socialism is more popular in america than ever. and i’m not just alluding to our new president. rather, i’ve seen a dynamic change in political thinking of the general population over the past several years. and the shift has taken many people over to the far left. how can i profit from this? should i invest in socialist countries? are there any socialist stocks? commodities? BOTTOM LINE: Are there any investments that have exposure to socialist or democratic (as defined in modern american politics) ideals? i understand that the point of socialism is not profit. however, i also understand that there is profit opportunity in any environment. i don’t like socialism. but i’m not going to try to buck it. rather, i want to profit from it.

You’re looking at it the wrong way. I’m not sure it would work if you tried (usually by the time you hear about something in the news, the stock has already moved and you missed the opportunity). But here’s a better way to think about it. It’s more like realizing that when we are about to go to war, it may be wise to invest in defense contractors.

What is the government going to spend money on? Let’s take green energy as an example. How much will the government spend on what kinds of development? Which companies are positioned best to bid on those projects? It may be wise to invest in those and you could make some loot on it.

It’s a move from supply-side to demand-side economics (we haven’t had free-market capitalism since the 1930’s). A lot of what congress is pushing is intended to increase demand for our products. Figure out where this demand will increase, and you know what to invest in.

People are leaning towards socialistic ideas because they are scared. Capitalism is what will get our country out of this mess. Truly letting the free market system work and not stalled by government interference will heal our country.

You seem patriotic; check out these people on YouTube.

    all of them.

    health care
    banking
    auto
all major industry are socialist targets right now under the new administration.

Socialism is only popular with the socialist, liberals and the left in general.

The “change in political thinking” is due to the change of ideology in the new Pres.

The US was not built on socialism. Show me any socialist country in the world that has a stronger economy than the USA. Hint: There are none that even come close.

The greater the movement of socialism means higher taxes for consumers. The less money people have to spend, the lower the corporate profits, which means lower stock prices.

Stem-cell research, biotech, nanotech, green technology, emerging technology, education. Any company with strong financials in those sectors will do.
