why is everyone like oh ya..china will surpass america in like 10 years? that’s physically impossible. Sure, china’s economy is growing at an alarming rate, BUT they still have an unemloyment rate of over 20%. While eastern china may be well developed, the west still greatly lacks basic neccesties and is usually neglected by the government. Also, truth be told.. products that are labelled Made in China are not necessarily developed or designed in China. In fact, 60% of Chinese goods that are exported come from overseas-invested factories, according to Chinese customs data. The United States of America has the world’s strongest army and navy and has a projection force to anywhere on earth. Our military simply cannot be matched. China still doesn’t know how to live in a modern society and is still a socialist country. Because of china’s “growth-at-all-costs” ideaology, the enviorment is quickly deteriorating and fresh water is a very scarce commodity….

whether or not they design the products, everyone still owes them money. if they were to demand thier debts to be paid now, the economy would go down the tubes

You have a compelling arguement. Seeing today’s youth, I wouldn’t doubt China has the potential to pass us up :) .
    1. Massive people, strength in numbers. Stalin and the Russians had a 5million man army, but wow did their technology ****. They didn’t have enough guns and ammo for all of the troops, planes, not even tanks and artillery in most of their battles in WW2. But yet they defended against the most technologically advanced army in the world, Germany.

U.S. has a multi-million dollar trade deficit to China. 1/2 the stuff in your home has, “Made in China” stamped/stickered on the back. They are mass producing everything. Yes, many of the items labeled that way are produced in Taiwan, which is still technically part of China. The reason they are growing so quickly is because of your own noted, “growth at all costs ideology”. People in China work for China. People in U.S. work for themselves, their own promotion. Education here has taken a sharp turn for the worse, so next generation of workers may not be as shrewd or competitive.

It may seem that way, but the truth is America do not provide enough fund for science and technology. If you look at the graduation rate for scientists, American is declining fast while China is increasing.
