investing commodities

What if you could do something to save the world but it would require tremendous sacrifice?

But by choosing the other option of doing nothing you could live out your life in relative comfort mentally carefree of the long term consequences for those other than yourself.

I believe such a dilemma already exists. Those of us who are adults now can pretty much live out or lives as the environment continues to degrade but yet be enough to support this generation to a relatively natural death.

But what about our children, other family, and friends, not to mention the variety of lifeforms and general beauty of the earth?

By sacrifice I mean devoting large amounts of time, effort and money. How many people waste these precious commodities on trivial things instead of investing these on saving all that is sacred on this earth?

This self examination includes myself. Everyday I am confronted by this dilemma and continue to encourage myself to give as much as possible.

All people do this… We all buy goods/services that We truly do not need… EVEN MYSELF… I am guilty of that. Although, I have come to realize what is important and what really does not matter…

Very poetic and dramatic…Hon, some people are doing what the can…now a days people (at least some people) are trying to live the “green” way…buying earth friendly materials and such…some people are evening rebuilding/remodeling their whole houses and furnishings…you can even diaper your babies in earth friendly diapers…even politcs/laws today are trying to play their parts from banning plastic bags to salvaging and recycling to smog checks on your car….
And then there are people who just don’t give a damn and you just have to ignore them and do what you do

Unfortunately as the person above said we are all guilty of being consumerists. Our hunger for more and more material possessions never seems to cease, and is continually fueled by marketing and advertising corporations. Every piece of junk we accumulate was once part of the earth’s limited resources. Eventually it simply becomes waste, to pollute the earth.

We can all do our part individually but, the only way we can really change is if there is a massive societal shift away from mass marketing and consumerism.

Check out for some great info about anti-consumerism.

I believe we can all make small sacrifices every day to ensure the future of the earth. It doesn’t have to be some grand gesture of martyrdom. We can all make a difference, if we choose.
